Rendezvous is the antithesis of the early all-inclusives like Hedonism - this one is strictly for couples in search of low-key privacy. With just 100 rooms and suites, Rendezvous is an oasis of serenity with landscaped gardens set beside the beach and sea. Quiet the place may be, but not dull - the two restaurants, offering indoor and outdoor dining, are augmented with live music for barbeque and Caribbean nights, and the Piano Bar keeps things humming until 2 am. Active lovers have access to two pools, watersports, a fitness center, tennis, golf, biking, archery, spa treatments in open air gazebos - even dance classes. With so much to enjoy, you'll probably find the rates among the resort's biggest attractions. On Malabar Beach, Rendezvous is an all-inclusive hotel for heterosexual couples only (no children, singles, or gay couples allowed). This is the down-market version of LeSPORT and suffers from its location at the end of the airport runway. Most guests are between the ages of 25 and 40, but you'll occasionally see some older folks. There are several price categories, depending on the season and the accommodation; top rates are charged for oceanfront luxury suites for two. Many beds are four-poster king-sizes draped in mosquito netting. The bathrooms are small but have combination tub/showers, lighted makeup mirrors, and dual basins. Balconies and terraces are common to all units. The resort is north of George F. L. Charles Airport, near Castries, set within a 3-hectare (7 1/2-acre) tropical garden on the edge of a large, sandy beach. Polished brass chandeliers highlight the Trysting Place, a classical colonial-style dining room. The informal, open-air Terrace Restaurant features pastas and other classics. For live entertainment 6 nights a week, guests frequent the piano bar. Facilities include 2 restaurants; 3 bars (1 piano bar); 2 outdoor pools; 2 whirlpools; 2 tennis courts; fitness center; archery; sauna; scuba-diving facilities; water-skiing; windsurfing; bicycle tours; laundry service.
